My Road Sign

Beijing is working on it's image and is updating it's English translations of street signs. Some humorous translation errors pointed out in the article include:
  • "Don't Fall Down" - a sign at the palace museum
  • “Being Urgent Call 110 Quickly”
  • "No Entry On Peacetime” instead of “Use Only In Case Of Emergency”
  • "Racist Park" - The translation of Beijing's Ethnic Minorities Park
Another article about Beijing's English Street Signs gives some other examples of humorous signs:
  • "Mind falling water"
  • "The slippery are very crafty"
  • "three quarters are under water" instead of "three-quarters of the park is a water surface."

If you find an interesting story about a road sign in the news and I haven't posted the story here, email mail@myroadsign.com. I would hate to miss signage current events!
