Road Sign and History

My Road SignRoad signs often evoke a sense of history. They're often named after famous generals, presidents or influential businessmen. I need to do more work on this page, but I'd like to uncover stories that talk about history and street signs. I've got some ideas. When I have more time, I'll revisit this page. The newest station in the Washington, DC area (Morgan Boulevard) will feature artwork that is a tribute to Garrett A. Morgan the inventor of the traffic light. It's mentioned in this Washington Post article and artist renderings appear on Metro's website.

There are some great sites discussing the history of road signs and the relationship of history and road signs.
